You may have discussed looking into an assisted living community, but they might be apprehensive about such a move. Many senior adults are wary of the changes they would face, and even fear losing their freedom if they move to an assisted living community. Regency can help alleviate worry on all sides!

Regency Independent Living offers residents the freedom of their own apartments, while giving other support they might need. There is no need to worry if your loved one is healthy. Regency provides residents with three meals every day, and offers help with medication if needed.

We also have safeguards in place in order to protect residents. With increasing age, physical labor can become difficult and even dangerous. We take care of that; residents do not have to tackle cleaning or home and yard maintenance as they would if they lived alone. This dramatically reduces the risk of falls and other injuries.

Loneliness is another concern when you have an older relative. They can’t always get out of the house as easily as they used to, and you might not be able to visit as much as you would like. Companionship and activity can be hard to maintain. Not at Regency! Being part of an assisted living community comes with potential friendships built right in. Residents are surrounded by a peer group and caring staff, with plenty of opportunities to have some fun!

Some of the regular activities at Regency in Huntsville include Jazzercise with Terrence, Bible Study, Catholic Communion, games and cards, Sunday movies, Bingo, water aerobics, Pumping Iron with Jim, crafts, science demonstrations, cooking club, educational programs, musical performances, and outings to eat or go shopping. One minute, we’re enjoying a wine and cheese social, the next we are tabletop bowling or dining at Red Lobster.

There is no reason for a senior adult to have a dull life. Choosing to make the move to assisted living could be beneficial not only for their health and safety, but also for their overall well-being.
