Make a difference

Calling all volunteers! We are always in need of volunteers to lend a helping hand with various daily activities and events. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of our senior residents, please contact us today at 256.852.0033!

From calling out bingo numbers for a fun game to assisting in other fun activities, we are always in need of volunteers at our Huntsville assisted living community to serve in various arenas. There are a whole host of reasons why assisted living volunteering is beneficial not only to the residents, but also to you! We’d like to highlight a few for those who maybe be interested in helping out at Regency Retirement Village of Huntsville.

  1. Broaden your horizons / learn something new! When you spend time with seniors, you have the unique opportunity to learn from the wealth of their experience. You can learn so much from the older generations, so while you’re helping take care of them, they are sharing knowledge and wisdom with you at the same time.
  2. Make some great friends! If you enjoy being around people and connecting socially, that’s an obvious benefit you will get out of volunteering at our Huntsville assisted living community. You’ll form special bonds with the residents that will mean the world not only to them, but also to you.
  3. Put it on your resume. Volunteering in this capacity can serve as a great way for teens and young adults to figure out if they’re interested in pursuing a career in senior care, nursing, or the like. It’s also a great way to develop many skills that are highly applicable in the workplace across many industries, from organization to fundraising skills to time management. Volunteer time also looks great on a resume, showing prospective employers that you genuinely care about the community, and make time to give back.
  4. Improve your health. Not only does volunteering help provide a sense of purpose, but also volunteers can also reap physical, mental, and emotional benefits as they serve in this capacity. Volunteering provides opportunities to get active and build healthy connections, which can be of benefit to the volunteer and the residents alike.
